This Guitar's Story

This guitar was a milestone for me & for King Electric Guitars. It was my first custom guitar build for a client! It was one of the first of what would become my Taurus model. When I built prototype #1 in my shop, I posted a few pics on social media and within days I received a request from Mr. Chris Nylund, a potential client IN FRANCE! After discussing with Mr. Nylund, we decided on the specs and I got to work. Not wanting to make a copy of another guitar, We went with the Taurus shape that I was designing at the time.

Chris asked for a purple paisley with binding on the back and sides, similar to prototype #1, but with natural sides and there HAD to be an arm carve.I spent several days on research & tooling to make his request a reality. His request is now a standard option on all of my models! Chris and I had many conversations along the way to ensure that the end product was what he dreamed of. All during the process, We talked & I sent pictures,until the guitar was in the finishing phase.

Once it was complete, I handed it off for it to make its way to France, but I made a request of my own. I asked that he opened the case while I was on a video call with him. The look on his face & the huge smile as he held his handmade custom guitar for the first time spoke volumes!
